'How to make It in America'. A quietly brewing concoction of culture,music, relationships and the fast life in New York City. HBO brought out this rather unknown gem last year. The premise is quite simple enough, two best friends along with other characters (Watch out for a familiar face by the name of Kid Cudi..) attempting to make it in the fashion industry and the ups and downs that come along the way. What makes this miniseries intriguing is how the city itself is essentially their own personal network.
The show makes no apologies in telling the viewer that it is 'who you know' and luck that gets you ever closer to that american dream- 'I know a guy in Downtown Brooklyn- he might be able to hook you up for a sample (jeans)' The way the main characters( Ben Epstein and Cameron 'Cam' Calderon) are always on the go, navigating the city, using the city, can only be described as a disorganised fashion, but a intriguing trend nonetheless.
Season 2 of How to Make It in America will premiere on Sunday the 2nd October check out the trailer!
